Nova Dando is an award winning commercial and music video director based in London. She has been listed in Grazia Magazine’s Cool List, the NME’s most 50 influential people in music videos and featured in Dazed, i-D, Elle, Vogue, Vice, Pop Magazine, Paper Magazine, NyLon and The Guardian. Her film for BA’s Level Airline won a prestigious D&AD Pencil in 2018.

Nova thrives when experimenting with live action and motion graphics. Nova’s clients span beauty, fashion and technology and she loves to work 360° across a campaign from conceptual development to direction and execution of the film across TV, video and social channels.

Having graduated from Central St Martins, Nova’s break into music promos came when M.I.A read an article about Nova’s work in i-D magazine and asked her to design the wardrobe for her next video. This led Nova into the world of music video and she worked on promos as a fashion director for La Roux, The Gossip, Hercules & Love Affair, Klaxons & The Horrors. It was here she nurtured her craft and evolved her role into a music video director, securing a Vimeo Staff Pick for her first music video for Bloc Party.

Outside of directing, Nova guest lectures at the London College of Fashion, specialising in Moving Image and Time-Based Media on the Creative Direction for Fashion BA course. By night, Nova can often be found DJ-ing at fashion events with musician Lou Hayter, where they have just launched an audiovisual show for 2018 with visuals created by Nova.

Nova’s commercial representation is Rsa Films
